How to host a private dinner in Clapham.
Twelve to ninety guests, a kitchen that knows the room, and the kinds of nights we've put together over twenty-five years.

Private dining in Clapham is a smaller market than most of London. There aren't many rooms in SW4 that can hold sixty for a sit-down dinner with one bill at the end. Tsunami can — and over twenty-five years we've hosted most flavours of private night, from milestone birthdays to startup AGMs to wedding rehearsals.
The Counter Room sits twelve and stands sixteen. It's the room behind the sushi counter, with full sightlines to the chef. Best for milestone dinners where you want the cooking to be part of the entertainment, and small corporate dinners that don't want to feel like a meeting.
The Banquet sits twenty-four and stands thirty-six. Larger semi-private space with its own bar, set behind a screen wall from the main dining room. Built for company evenings, larger birthdays, rehearsal dinners. The bar makes it work for standing receptions before a sit-down dinner.
Full Buy-Out runs Sundays and Mondays only — the entire restaurant, your team, your menu. Up to ninety guests across the dining room, the bar and the counter. We provide a dedicated event lead from the moment you book through to the night itself.
On the food: most parties go for our private set menu — five courses, family-style, paced to the room. We can also build bespoke menus around dietary needs, anniversaries (the kitchen will write the date in chocolate or shiso), or specific brand themes for corporate. Drinks packages run from a sake or beer included to a full open bar.
Two practical notes. Booking lead time is usually four to six weeks for the semi-private rooms; full buy-outs we'd want eight weeks if possible. Deposits are taken at confirmation and are deductible from the final bill. Drop reservations@tsunamiclapham.co.uk an email or call 020 7978 1610 and we'll send the package details.
